Your voices have been heard!

After the massive fire at Dunwich Heath in July, 140,000 people signed our petition calling on Government to make climate resilience a national mission and restore nature to help curb wildfires.

Cambridgeshire is one of England's driest and most nature-depleted counties, but Wimpole has bucked the trend!

More than 5,000 species of wildlife have been officially recorded on the estate thanks to decades of nature recovery work.

Good news for your feed: A koala was spotted returning to restored forest. 🌿🐨

Following devastating wildfires, WWF-Australia, with WWF-UK’s support, focused on regenerating habitat for koalas.

In December 2025, a koala returned to a young forest in New South Wales for the first time. 🎉

Good change is possible. With clear goals, a realistic pathway to achieve them, the agency to deliver, and the resilience to overcome barriers, a future where people and nature thrive can become a reality.

We can’t go back. So where do we want to go next?

That’s the question at the heart of our new report The Good Anthropocene, with @anthropocenebio.bsky.social.

We've seen the seeds of what could be in our projects across the UK, showing a future where people and nature can thrive is possible.

🚨 BREAKING: Almost 9 MILLION people across the UK are at risk of needing a food bank in the next year.

One in five people have run out of food in past year and been unable to afford to buy more.

The government must act ahead of the Budget to make essentials like food and bills affordable.

New oil & gas drilling WON'T reduce energy bills.⚠️

It WILL put more pressure on a climate in crisis, and damage our precious natural world.

After a summer when extreme heat caused 1000s of excess deaths, and wildfires to rip through the country, this is a deeply disappointing and misguided move.

BREAKING: UK government have made the irressponsible decision to approve Jackdaw gas field. 🚨

Fossil fuels are not the future.

The truth is this decision will only support a support a tiny number of jobs, do nothing to lower prices, all while causing further harm to our planet.

The Jackdaw approval is deeply disappointing.

The facts:
‼️ Jackdaw would supply 2% of UK gas demand in its lifetime
‼️ With gas priced internationally, Jackdaw won't lower energy bills

More drilling will NOT help people, nature & our energy security. We need a fair renewable energy transition. 🍃

Hope for UK wildlife! 🦦

✅Otters: were in decline, now back across most of the UK.

✅Barn owls: up an estimated 223% since 1995.

✅Beavers: returning to our rivers and wetlands after successful reintroduction.

✅Puffins: bouncing back thanks to local conservation.

Very good to see this staunch support from @londonlooalliance.bsky.social for reinstating policy S6 on public toilets in the London Plan. I raised this gap in the draft plan with @julespipe.bsky.social and hope that through the examination in public process we can get it reinstated.

Not just a missed opportunity, but a backwards step.
Public toilet provision and the London Plan: Statement by the London Loo Alliance.

Text reads The London Loo Alliance are seriously concerned that there has been insufficient consideration about the importance of public toilet provision in the drafting of the updated London Plan. Whilst public toilets are referred to in three policies (Healthy Streets and the Public Realm, the Nighttime Economy, and Visitor Infrastructure), there is very little detail. Provision of public toilets is too important to inclusive, healthy and strong communities to be an afterthought. The 2021 update of the London Plan had a full policy on public toilets, Policy S6. This was not a perfect policy but there was substance. We had hoped that the refreshed Plan would build on this, instead a backwards step has been made. This is a missed opportunity at a time when there is growing awareness about the importance of public toilet provision. We are calling for Policy S6 to be reinstated, and for greater consideration of public toilet provision across all policies. The Greater London Authority should develop a public toilets plan to support local authorities, and to coordinate action and guidance on improving public toilet provision across the city. (Continued on next page) UVText reads (Continued) Public toilet provision matters for so many different reasons. Without good provision, London will not be the inclusive and welcoming city we all want to it to be. Poor-quality public toilet provision impacts all Londoners but disproportionately affects older and disabled people, those with health conditions, pregnant women, itinerant workers, such as delivery drivers, families with young children and many more. This is about inclusion, public health, the right to a dignity at work and much more. Poor provision means many Londoners are not free to access London’s public spaces because of fears about the lack of accessible toilets. Good quality public toilet provision can improve quality of life for many people. It is good for local economies (encouraging footfall and dwell time) and it is good for people.

Hunger in the UK isn’t about access to food, it’s about income.

People literally don’t have enough money to live on, bills, rent and fuel have skyrocketed, jobs don’t pay enough, and Universal Credit is just a measly £98 a week. #WorldFoodDay

We know that connecting with nature can do so much for children's wellbeing, confidence and learning, but many still face barriers to spending time outdoors.

It's great to see the Princess of Wales shining a spotlight on the role nature can play. 🌿

We have the RECEIPTS 🧾 and we printed a very big one.

It lists everything the right to food should mean, from affordable food to reliable access.

For World Food Day we took it to Parliament with @ianbyrnemp.bsky.social who said “this is what the UK desperately needs.”

How do we build a food bank free future?

That was the question at the heart of the conversation at our event last night.

Our Social Change Advisor, @heather-buckingham.bsky.social spoke about why so many people are struggling to afford the essentials and what must be done to change this.
